How to use Alfred the Almighty

He's a pretty simple guy, but will smite thee who are shitheads. Well, he won't yet but someday he will.

Commands

Alfred's command prefix is ?, so for anything that isn't covered in this guide, try ?help.

  • ?close MESSAGE to close a ticket. A message is no longer required, so it's best to send a last message to the user then close, that way the log in the #modmail-logs channel will not end abruptly and we will be able to see the close reason.
  • ?selfcontact to open a ticket with yourself, this is a good way to start a test ticket.
  • ?contact @user to open a ticket with however many users you want, just keep appending @user with no separation other than a space!
  • ?logs @user to get all ticket logs for a specific user.
  • ?snippet to create snippet commands.
  • ?block @user to block a user.
  • ?unblock @user to unblock a user.
  • ?autotrigger is like snippets, but will be automatically triggered for any "string" (text) matching a trigger in a users initial message only. Good for rule based quick questions.
  • ?feedback to prompt the user for feedback when a thread is opened or has been closed.
  • ?threadmove inside of a thread to move it to a new category.

Using Discord's Developer Mode, you can copy a User ID and put the id between brackets and an @ like `<@ID####> to make a clickable, linked @ in any Discord, for any user. Use this same logic to fill in @user fields in commands when they aren't in a server that the bot is in!

Things to know

The bot will auto-restart in the event of a crash or issues, if for some reason he is broken otherwise, let @coreobs know via Discord.
